Nikon viewnx i9/4/2023 ![]() Check the "Store Original" box when uploading. I used (use) them for the first part of a raw Nikon workflow. I do recall Both of them both being clunky, resource intensive, and crash prone. Instead, Nikon Japan is directing users to its newer suite of apps, including NX Studio, NX Tether, Camera Control Pro 2, Picture Control Utility 2, Webcam Utility and others. I used to use both programs, when they worked on MacOS, And I don’t recall having that issue. Nikon Japan has announced that on Thursday, June 30, 2022, it will no longer offer downloads for its ViewNX-2, ViewNX-i, Capture NX2 and Capture NX-D software. Perhaps it has something to do with color space in the output file? Is there a preference setting for color space? That might be something to check. The TIFF turned out just the same as the JPG.Īny input to why there should be differences in output from these two programs would be most welcome.Īny input to why there should be differences in output from these two programs would be most welcome.I have both Nikon's ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D soft. Just in case this this tonal and exposure shift was a JPG issue, I used Capture NX-D to output the image as a TIFF - all settings kept the same. Capture NX-D had its settings set as default as did ViewNX-i. I am at a loss to know why there should be any differences between the output conversions of the two. The preview image appeared much the same as for Capture NX-D as did the JPG conversion - no change to the tonal values or exposure. I then repeated the conversion using ViewNX-i. The pages below describe these operations. Using Nikon Transfer 2, you can easily transfer images and movies shot with a Nikon digital camera or those stored in a memory card, etc. The JPG was lighter in exposure and the color tinted slightly more yellowish. First, transfer images or movies shot with a digital camera to a computer using Nikon Transfer 2. The resultant JPG image's tonal range and contrast was quite visibly different from the preview image in Capture NX-D. I opened the first NEF file in Capture NX-D and converted it to a JPG using the highest quality setting and leaving all other editing options as recorded by the camera. I uploaded NEF photos shot yesterday from my D500 to my computer. I have both Nikon's ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D software.
